VERDE RANCH RV RESORT

1105 N. Dream Catcher Dr.

Camp Verde, Arizona 86322

Back in January 2020, we attended the Quartzsite Sports, Vacation & RV Show, better known as the “Big Tent”.  We were fortunate to meet Lisa Harold, the COO of Contemporary Resorts & Residences (CRR) at their booth.  She recognized us and said that she loves watching our channel and offered an opportunity to us that we were thrilled to accept.

Her company had just completed and opened a new RV Resort in Camp Verde, AZ and she wanted to sponsor us a couple nights and asked us to do a video, a blog post, and other social media posts in review of their new Verde Ranch RV Resort.

Arrangements were made with their marketing and media departments for us to visit at the end of February 2020.

We arrived at Verde Ranch RV Resort on Friday, February 28th for 3 nights, leaving on Monday, March 2nd.

When Tom checked in, they were excited to see us and had a gift package for us that had some long bamboo sticks (for marshmallow toasting), a “s’mores kit”, a bottle of wine from a local vineyard and winery, Alcantara, and a couple of really cool stainless steel goblets!

When we got to our site, they had a picnic table, a wood fire pit, and a package of wood waiting for us.  They charge a $20 each/per month (one day to one month, charge is the same) rental fee for the picnic table and the fire pit.  Wood can be purchased in their store and registration office.

The marketing department had previously sent to us a “Social Media Influencer” packet with a recommended schedule of things to do and see, so we took their advice on a couple of suggestions.

First, we took a walk around the resort and kind of got an idea of what was there and what we wanted to feature in our video over the weekend.

One of the suggested restaurants was a cute little place called La Casita and it was right off of the main street going through the little town of Camp Verde.

The Mexican restaurant looks like it used to be a house.  It is very colorful with lots of paintings on the tables, chairs, and walls.  The service was incredible and the food was really good with large portions.

The next day we walked all around the resort and checked out the laundry and shower rooms, the clubhouse and pool area, the store and registration building, the covered sites, a rental cabin, and the walking trail next to the river.

The Laundry Facilities:

The laundry rooms are nice and large with six washing machines, six driers, 3 laundry carts, large folding counters, nice seating, big TV, vending machines, and a change machine. Very clean.

The Shower Facilities:

Four full and private bathroom/shower rooms complete with shower, toilet, bench, sink, & counter. One was handicap accessible.

The Clubhouse:

A large and beautifully furnished and decorated building complete with large fireplace, couches, lounge chairs, game tables, big TV, a media room, a fitness center, kitchen, meeting room, billiards, and shuffleboard.

The Pool Area:

Large heated swimming pool, two hot tubs, & a splash/water fun area for kids.

The Registration & Store Building:

Registration counter along with a small store providing local artisan crafts, firewood, snacks, toys, souvenirs, wine, and other beverages.

The Covered Sites:

There are 22 covered sites. The “covers” are solar panels. These sites would be very much welcomed in the hot summer months.

Cabins:

There are three different cabin types, ranging in price.  We were able to tour one of the Premium Cabins that hasn’t been released yet.  It was a darling and fully furnished and equipped cabin with two bedrooms and a loft.  There is a front porch and a back porch. The cabin comes with a picnic table and a BBQ grill.

Doggie Areas:

There are around eight doggie areas with fake grass, poo bags, and trash receptacle. The areas are not fenced and dogs must be leashed at all times.

Recreation Areas:

The resort offers pickleball courts, a bocce ball court, and horseshoe pit, and a playground.

There is a short, dirt, walking trail to the river (Verde River).  It is still in the development stages.

The lower area of the resort isn’t open yet, and these sites are going to be considered Premium Back In sites by the pond, however; this area is right by I-17. It wouldn’t be our fist choice.

The whole resort is nestled between Highway 260 and Interstate 17. There were a lot of siren and traffic noises. Maybe when landscaping matures, their will be a little less road noise.

The staff is wonderful and the resort is kept very clean.

There is a Walmart located to the north about fifteen minutes away in the town of Cottonwood.

The town of Camp Verde is small but full of history.  They have a great museum in the 1914 Camp Verde Grammar School which now houses the Camp Verde Historical Society & Visitor Center.

There is a walking tour of the town and you can obtain a guide pamphlet at the visitor center.

Fort Verde is also within walking distance of the town.  There is a fee to enter the Fort grounds.

We went to the very nearby National Monument, Montezuma Castle which is a “building” built into the side of a cliff by the Southern Sinagua people between 1100 and 1300.  You can’t get anywhere near the structure, but it is interesting to think about how they built it. There is a “model” of what the structure looks like behind the outer wall.

There are many things to do in the Camp Verde area.  Sedona is only about ½ hour to 45 minutes away. There are other historical places to visit, an African Animal Park, local wineries, and many other activities and sites which make Verde Ranch a prime vacation lodging destination choice.
